OFF TO SEE "THE WIZARD"

Please enjoy with my compliments the above picture, entitled "Off to See the Wizard", taken at Pooke's graduation party on July 8. Being a LAZY Cheap Bastard, it took me a few weeks to post this and other pictures, but they are now available HERE. As for the festivities and the happiest of after hours at A's, 'twas the best of times and I am already thinking about going for another degree just so I can have a new excuse to celebrate.

And speaking of wizards, I finally came across a copy of my favorite bad movie of all time - The Wizard (1989). Tears of joy welled up in my eyes when I watched this arcade-fortified smorgasbord involving 97 titles of 8-bit Nintendo payola goodness. As a bonus, this movie features Fred Savage, Christian Slater, and Beau Bridges together in one happy family, as well as a blink-of-an-eye young Toby Maguire cameo towards the end. Even better, it introduces Super Mario Brothers III and The Power Glove to the world, and features a demolition derby involving the finest in late '80s Oldsmobile and Chevy products.

Finally, a little bit of trivia. See if you can guess which Steak 'n Shake menu item has the following nutritional info (yesterday's CB lunch):

The Bad

Calories: 1572
Fat: 103.5 g
Sat. Fat: 57 g
Cholesterol: 235 g
Sodium: 2790 mg

The Good

Fiber: 10 g
Protein: 65 g
Also High In: Vitamin A, Calcium, Iron

Click on "Comments" and leave your name and guess. A SPECIAL PRIZE awaits the first person to get it right!

And before anyone starts inscribing my tombstone, keep in mind that I usually watch what I eat at work - sometimes it's just hard to fight a craving.
