Old-Fashioned Fun at the Pond

I've been busy of late keeping up to date on the D.P. Dough blog, and have therefore neglected to some extent this here "soul" blog. Les pido disculpas. Never fear, though - every time I think I'm out, something pulls me right back in again. In this case, it was the impromptu fashion walk-off between NNHS Prom King '01 (Steve) and Prom King '06 (Pooke). I readily admit that I played a role in instigating this, telling Steve that, sorry, Pooke is too GQ for him to match. Ste doesn't much like to lose without a fight, especially when there's humor to be had; thus, we ended up with a Zoolander-style walk-off in our very own living room. Now I hate that movie as much as some people love it, but I am beyond thankful that it was able to contribute to the spectacle that unfolded before our eyes.

It started innocently enough, mind you. Pooke and Ste (above) took their turns strutting their stuff in an Entourage kind of way to a stock Euro mix. This initially controlled nuclear reaction of entertainment only began to melt down when Toadman decided to do his thing to the tune of Green Day's "Tired of Waiting". If you want to see video of this, harass Ste until he sends me the file or puts it on youtube. It may or may not contain yours truly doing an awful hybrid between a drunken jig and Riverdance (Postscript: he has been duly harassed - most likely by Pooke - and the video is available for your viewing pleasure below).

My only regret is that I don't use a modern template for this blog, so I can't treat readers to a winner-take-all Ste vs. Pooke poll question. I'll work on that.

That's all for today. Stay tuned for the next installment: "Teaching Toadman to Make a Smoothie".

you neglected to mention that jussin was disqualified because his blazer was, in fact, intended for women's wear...
